2025-26 Volunteer Grants program in Cowan is OPEN.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) close Monday, 23 March 2026, 5:00 pm AWST

Under the Volunteer Grants programme, not-for-profit organisations that have 40% or more volunteer staff can receive a Commonwealth grant of between $1,000 and $5,000.
 
There are two different categories for Volunteer Grants:
 
Category 1: For communication, IT and insurance costs, including items such as laptops, mobile phones, tablets, software, audio-visual equipment, payment devices, internet service fees, and community organisation insurance premiums that support volunteers.

Category 2: Supports projects, items and volunteer-led activities that promote the development and wellbeing of children under 18, while also assisting priority groups, including First Nations people, newly arrived migrants, people living with disability, veterans, women experiencing disadvantage or violence, and initiatives that address gender or racial discrimination and strengthen community inclusion.
 
To be eligible for the Volunteer Grants:

  • Must be a non-for-profit organisation
  • Have a minimum of 40% of volunteers working for your organisation
  • Have an Australian Business Number (ABN) or be willing to provide a statement by Supplier form.

First stage: Expressions of Interest 19 February - 23 March 2026 

Any eligible organisation in Cowan can submit an expression of interest to Dr Aly's office. To apply, please complete the Expression of interest form by no later than 5.00 pm AWST, Monday, 23 March 2026.
